We bring Informatics Practices to life through hands-on lessons, project-based learning, and active engagement with technology and data analysis.

Our Informatics Practices department is equipped with state-of-the-art teaching resources to make the subject interactive and thought-provoking. These include interactive smart boards, data analysis tools, coding platforms, cloud storage, and access to online tech libraries. Students explore the world of information technology, software development, data management, and digital communication, while examining the role of technology in shaping modern societies.

At LPS, we believe in making Informatics Practices both relevant and inspiring. In the Lower School, pupils develop basic computing skills, learning about digital devices, coding fundamentals, and internet safety.

In Years 7 and 8, students focus on computer programming, data structures, and the basics of database management, learning about algorithms, web development, and networking concepts. By Year 9, they explore more advanced topics in software development, programming languages, and data science—while honing their logical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills.

To connect technology with real-world applications, we organize visits to tech companies, participate in coding bootcamps, and host guest lectures by tech professionals. Pupils create digital projects, develop mobile applications, analyze datasets, and work on team-based programming challenges. They also participate in inter-house coding contests, national informatics Olympiads, hackathons, and tech fairs.

Our “Tech Innovators” club hosts workshops on app development, discussions on emerging technologies, and hands-on coding sessions. Corridor displays, project boards, and classroom exhibitions feature student-created websites, software applications, data models, and multimedia presentations, reflecting their ongoing work and achievements. We aim to nurture future tech leaders who understand the impact of technology on society and are ready to contribute to the digital revolution.
