We teach Accountancy as the language of business, finance, and decision-making.

The Accountancy Department at Lucknow Public School provides students with the knowledge and skills to record, analyse, and interpret financial information accurately. Our facilities include interactive smart boards, accounting software, business and taxation reference tables, financial case studies, and access to professional journals and commerce-related publications. Students also work with real-world style ledgers, vouchers, and statement formats to develop hands-on bookkeeping and analysis skills.

Our curriculum is progressive and application-based. In the Lower School (where Accountancy principles are introduced through commerce basics), learners explore concepts like money management, basic records, and simple profit-loss understanding. Years 7 and 8 focus on the accounting cycle, journal entries, ledgers, and trial balances in project-based formats. By Year 9 and beyond, students manage complex tasks such as preparing final accounts, analysing ratios, understanding depreciation, handling partnership accounts, cost accounting, company accounts, and taxation—equipping them to excel in CBSE board exams and professional courses.

Practical exposure is a priority. Students participate in simulated business environments where they prepare financial statements, analyse company reports, and create budgets. We integrate case studies from real companies and scenarios involving GST, banking operations, and investment decisions.

Co-curricular activities are supported by the Commerce & Accountancy Club, which organises entrepreneurship challenges, mock audits, stock market simulations, and “Shark Tank”-style business pitching events. Inter-school commerce fests and accounting competitions offer further avenues for practice and recognition.

Student work is displayed through ledgers, balance sheets, project portfolios, and infographics explaining accounting principles. During annual exhibitions, students present business plans with financial data, demonstrating both subject knowledge and practical application.

Through Accountancy, LPS instils accuracy, organisational skills, analytical thinking, and financial literacy. Students leave with the ability to interpret financial information, plan budgets, and make informed business decisions—skills essential for careers in finance, auditing, taxation, and entrepreneurship.
