Strengthening Roots Through Language, Heritage, and Learning
At Lucknow Public School, Pragatipuram, the Sanskrit Department is dedicated to preserving India’s classical language while making it relevant for today’s learners. Sanskrit is taught as a discipline that enhances memory, improves cognitive skills, and builds a strong foundation in language and culture. Our approach ensures students develop both linguistic proficiency and a deep appreciation for heritage.
Our classrooms include smart boards, audio pronunciation tools, digital grammar resources, e-text libraries, and collections of classical Sanskrit literature. Students explore epics, scriptures, poetry, and philosophical writings, supported by guided chanting sessions that strengthen fluency and accuracy, strengthening roots of language, culture, and heritage.
Students begin with Devanagari script learning, vocabulary development, and basic sentence formation. Shloka recitation helps improve focus, discipline, and pronunciation.
At the middle level, students read short stories, moral verses, and simplified classical texts. Translation exercises and structured writing activities help improve understanding and expression.
At advanced levels, students study grammar in depth, interpret literary texts, and engage in original Sanskrit composition. This prepares them for examinations and advanced academic study.
Students actively participate in dramatization of Sanskrit plays, storytelling sessions, translation work, and creative writing activities. These methods make language learning engaging and practical.
Research projects explore topics such as ancient Indian knowledge systems, linguistic evolution, and Sanskrit’s influence on modern communication.
The department organizes recitation competitions, debates, cultural programs, and literary activities. The Sanskrit Sabha hosts Sanskrit Diwas celebrations, guest lectures, and storytelling events.
Student work is displayed through calligraphy, manuscript-style art, translated texts, and illustrated epics. Audio archives preserve student recitations for learning support.
Through structured learning and cultural engagement, LPS Pragatipuram nurtures students who value language, tradition, and intellectual growth.
