We bring Social Studies to life through interactive lessons, storytelling, and exploration of the world’s cultures, history, and communities.

Our Social Studies department is equipped with engaging resources that make learning about the world both fun and meaningful. These include maps, globes, cultural artifacts, videos, and age-appropriate books. Students explore geography, history, cultures, and communities, while learning about the roles of individuals and groups in shaping the world around them.

At LPS, we believe in making Social Studies both enjoyable and educational. In Grade 1, students begin by exploring their own community, learning about the people, places, and jobs that make it unique.

In Grade 2, they focus on the basics of geography, such as identifying countries, continents, and landmarks, and exploring different cultures and traditions. By Grade 3, students learn about historical figures, important events, and the concept of time, while discovering how the past shapes the present. In Grades 4 and 5, they dive deeper into the study of ancient civilizations, famous landmarks, world history, and the geography of different regions—while developing skills like critical thinking, empathy, and an understanding of global connections.

To bring Social Studies to life, we organize field trips to local landmarks, museums, and cultural festivals. Pupils engage in group projects, create cultural posters, and participate in storytelling sessions and history role-plays. They also compete in inter-house quizzes, geography challenges, and map-making contests.

Our “Explorer’s Club” hosts fun activities like world trivia, cultural exchanges, and community service projects. Corridor displays, project boards, and classroom exhibitions feature student-created maps, historical timelines, cultural displays, and presentations, reflecting their learning and curiosity about the world. We aim to inspire young learners to appreciate the diversity of people and places, fostering a sense of global citizenship.
