news

Lucknow, June 28, 2025 - The air was charged with excitement and anticipation as Lucknow Public School (LPS) hosted its much-awaited annual Inter-House Quiz Championship 2025. The intellectually stimulating event took place in the school’s multipurpose auditorium, which was buzzing with energy from students, teachers, and parents, all gathered to witness the thrilling face-off between the four competing houses—Tagore, Raman, Vivekananda, and Bose.

This flagship knowledge event at LPS has become a tradition that not only celebrates academic excellence but also fosters quick thinking, teamwork, and presence of mind among students. This year’s edition was a grander affair, thoughtfully curated around a diverse range of topics that challenged even the sharpest minds.

The Championship Begins: A Display of Intelligence and Teamwork

The quiz championship commenced with an inspiring welcome address by Principal Mrs. Anjali Srivastava, who emphasized the importance of holistic education and how such events ignite curiosity and promote a love for learning beyond textbooks. “A quiz is more than just questions and answers,” she said. “It’s a celebration of knowledge, confidence, and collaboration. Today, we are here to recognize our thinkers and changemakers.”

The competition saw participation from students of Grades VI to XII, who were grouped into junior and senior teams representing each house. The preliminary rounds were conducted earlier in June, where over 120 students appeared for a written screening. The top 4 teams per category advanced to the grand finale held on Saturday.

Spotlight on the Teams

The senior division saw a tight competition between the Raman and Vivekananda Houses, with Raman House ultimately emerging victorious by just a 5-point lead in the buzzer round. The team showcased remarkable synergy, particularly in the science and general knowledge segments.

In the junior division, it was the Tagore House that clinched the championship trophy, demonstrating quick reflexes and an impressive command of diverse topics. The team’s performance in the visual round stood out and received a thunderous round of applause.

Mentorship & Preparation Behind the Scenes

The success of the event reflected months of preparation by students and their mentors. Teachers from various departments collaborated to design the quiz content, ensuring its quality, accuracy, and engagement. Practice sessions, mock rounds, and strategy briefings were all part of the journey leading up to the finale.

Special recognition was given to Ms. Nidhi Kapoor (Senior Coordinator) and Mr. Rajeev Tiwari (Quiz Master) for their commitment in organizing the event seamlessly.

Winners and Awards

The winners received trophies, certificates, and book vouchers sponsored by the LPS Alumni Association. The event concluded with the announcement of the Best Quizzer of the Year, awarded to Aarav Saxena of Class XI (Raman House) for his exceptional performance and leadership throughout the competition.

The overall Best House Trophy for the Quiz Championship 2025 was awarded to Raman House, based on cumulative points from both divisions.
