The English Department at Lucknow Public School is a vibrant hub where language comes alive through interactive lessons, engaging discussions, and a wide variety of resources. Equipped with modern teaching aids such as interactive smart boards, multimedia presentations, a fully functional language lab, and an extensive library of classic and contemporary works, the department offers students an immersive learning environment. Our collection includes novels, plays, poetry, biographies, literary journals, and reference books, encouraging reading for both academic and personal enrichment. Lessons often incorporate audio-visual materials, drama enactments, and collaborative projects, making English both relevant and enjoyable.

At LPS, our approach is carefully structured across levels. In the Lower School, students work on foundational grammar, vocabulary building, handwriting, and guided reading of simple texts, laying the groundwork for fluency. In Years 7 and 8, they begin exploring age-appropriate literature, improve comprehension skills, and apply creative writing techniques to compose poems, short stories, and descriptive essays. To foster creativity and recognition, corridor and classroom displays regularly feature student essays, poems, creative posters, reviews, and original plays.
