We teach Economics as a bridge between academics and the real world.

The Economics Department at Lucknow Public School equips students to understand how societies, markets, and individuals make choices in a world of limited resources. Our classrooms are supported with interactive smart boards, access to statistical software, economic data banks, financial newspapers, journals, and curated case studies. Visual infographics, economic models, and simulation tools help to simplify complex concepts like inflation, global trade, and fiscal policy for learners at every stage.

The curriculum is structured progressively. In the Lower School, students are introduced to the basics of money, resources, needs versus wants, and simple trade concepts. In Years 7 and 8, they explore supply and demand, economic systems, national income, and development indicators through age-appropriate projects and discussions. By Year 9 and above, topics expand to microeconomics, macroeconomics, globalisation, economic reforms, environmental economics, and public finance—preparing students for CBSE board examinations, competitive tests, and higher academic study.

Learning in Economics at LPS is hands-on and applied. Students work on surveys, interpret budget data, analyse local market trends, create business plans, and role-play policy-making in mock parliament sessions. Field trips to banks, the stock exchange, and manufacturing units give a first-hand view of economics in action.

Co-curricular engagement is rich and varied, with activities such as economic debates, budget-making competitions, entrepreneurship fests, and participation in national-level Economics Olympiads. The Economics Club organises “Market Days,” financial literacy drives, panel discussions with industry experts, and contemporary policy analysis workshops.

Student work is showcased through charts, infographics, business model blueprints, and economic research papers on display across the department. Annual exhibitions feature innovative economic solutions to real-world challenges, such as projects on sustainable development, rural entrepreneurship, and start-up ecosystems.

Through Economics, LPS not only builds academic expertise but also practical life skills in analysis, decision-making, and strategic thinking. Students graduate with the ability to connect classroom theory to societal challenges, financial planning, and global perspectives—empowering them to be informed citizens and future leaders in business, governance, and research.
