The Mathematics Department at Lucknow Public School is dedicated to developing analytical thinking, precision, and creativity in every learner. Our classrooms are equipped with interactive smart boards, mathematical modelling kits, geometry tools, abacuses, and manipulatives that make abstract concepts tangible. The Math Lab features puzzles, charts, measuring instruments, and software for algebraic and geometric visualisation. Students also have access to digital platforms for practice, assessment, and interactive simulations.

Our curriculum is carefully structured for progressive learning. In the Lower School, we focus on building strong foundations in numeracy, arithmetic operations, shapes, patterns, and basic problem-solving. In Years 7 and 8, students explore fractions, decimals, percentages, algebraic expressions, coordinate geometry, probability, and introductory statistics. By Year 9 and above, the curriculum expands to advanced algebra, trigonometry, calculus, vectors, mathematical modelling, and data interpretation, preparing students for board examinations, competitive tests, and higher studies.

Mathematics at LPS goes beyond rote learning. Students work on real-life applications like budgeting exercises, survey data analysis, architectural design calculations, and STEM-based problem-solving. Math games, coding applications, and logical reasoning challenges introduce diverse and engaging problem-solving environments.

Co-curricular enrichment includes inter-house math quizzes, Math Olympiads, mental calculation contests, and puzzle-solving championships. The Math Club hosts “Logic Fridays” and “Problem of the Month” challenges, encouraging collaborative and independent thinking. Students also create mathematical art, design board games, and develop math-based coding projects.

Student work is frequently displayed through colourful charts, statistical graphs, geometric models, and project boards in corridors and classrooms. Annual academic exhibitions feature creative projects such as 3D shapes, probability games, and real-life mathematical models.
