We teach Physics as the key to understanding how the world works.

The Physics Department at Lucknow Public School sparks curiosity by blending theoretical concepts with practical experimentation. Our physics laboratories are equipped with optical benches, mechanics kits, oscilloscopes, electrical circuit boards, magnetism apparatus, wave generators, and digital measuring tools. Simulation software, 3D models, and multimedia resources further help students visualise abstract phenomena—from atomic structures to cosmic events—making complex ideas clear and engaging.

Our curriculum is designed for progressive learning. In the Lower School, students are introduced to measurement, forces, motion, and basic machines through simple demonstrations. In Years 7 and 8, they explore sound, light, heat, energy transformation, and introductory electricity concepts. By Year 9 and beyond, they analyse advanced topics including electromagnetism, optics, nuclear physics, modern electronics, and astrophysics—equipping them for CBSE examinations, competitive tests, and higher education in science and technology fields.

Physics at LPS is about discovering principles in action. Students engage in experiments such as lens and mirror studies, electric circuit construction, pendulum motion analysis, and verification of physical laws. Field trips to observatories, science museums, and engineering facilities enrich learners’ understanding of physics in industry and research.

Co-curricular activities include participation in National and International Science Olympiads, inter-house physics quizzes, and innovation challenges. The Physics Club conducts hands-on workshops—such as building homemade telescopes, creating simple motors, and hosting “Physics in Everyday Life” demonstrations—to show how science impacts the real world.

Student work is showcased through project boards, lab reports, working models, and interactive displays featuring experiments, concept diagrams, and energy models. Annual Science and Innovation Fairs highlight creative projects like renewable energy devices, robotics applications, and physics-based games.

Through Physics, LPS fosters critical thinking, precision, and problem-solving skills. Our approach builds not only academic competence but also a mindset of inquiry—encouraging students to question, investigate, and innovate. By linking classroom concepts to real-world technology, we prepare learners to excel in engineering, research, and other STEM-based careers.
