"Building Strong Foundations for Lifelong Learning"

The Primary Learning Process at LPS

At LPS, the Primary learning process is a well-planned journey that supports intellectual, social, and emotional development. Lessons are designed to spark curiosity and critical thinking while strengthening reading, writing, and numerical skills.

Learning is made real through experiments, group discussions, educational trips, and creative projects. Teachers assess each child’s progress continuously, offering personalised support where needed. This approach nurtures self-confidence, resilience, and a genuine love for learning, ensuring students are ready for the more advanced middle school years.

The Five Areas of the Primary School Curriculum

Practical Life & Social Skills

At Lucknow Public School, our Primary practical life curriculum strengthens a child’s sense of responsibility and leadership.

Students take part in activities that promote independence—such as organising classroom projects, participating in group discussions, and taking initiatives in community tasks. These experiences develop problem-solving skills, teamwork, empathy, and environmental stewardship, preparing them for real-world responsibilities.

Observation & Exploration

While sensorial training begins in early years, at the Primary level at LPS, children build on those foundations by applying their observation skills to real-life situations. Through art, nature studies, experiments, and field visits, they learn to compare, analyse, and draw conclusions—deepening curiosity and critical thinking.

Mathematics

The Mathematics curriculum at LPS for classes 1–5 ensures strong conceptual understanding and practical application. Students move from basic number operations to more advanced topics like multiplication, division, fractions, time, money, measurement, geometry, and data handling. Problem-solving activities, math games, and project work make learning logical, engaging, and fun.

Language & Communication

In the Primary years, our Language program develops confident readers, writers, and speakers. Children enhance vocabulary, grammar, comprehension, and spelling through structured and creative tasks. Writing activities include letters, stories, essays, and poems, while regular debates, speeches, and presentations build fluency, clarity, and public speaking skills.

Cultural Studies & Science

At LPS, we encourage curiosity about the world through geography, history, and science.

Students explore our planet’s landscapes, cultures, and heritage; learn about significant historical events; and carry out simple experiments in life and physical sciences. Environmental Studies and Social Science projects foster global awareness, respect for diversity, and a sense of responsibility towards nature.
