Exploring History, Geography, and Human Connections

At Lucknow Public School, Social Studies helps students understand the world through the study of people, cultures, history, geography, and communities. By encouraging curiosity and active exploration, we help learners develop a broader perspective on the world while exploring human experiences, relationships, and societies. This approach fosters respect for different cultures and traditions while building awareness of the diverse world around them.

Students have access to a wide variety of learning resources including maps, globes, visual aids, cultural artefacts, digital learning materials, and engaging classroom activities that make Social Studies both educational and enjoyable.

Grade 1 students explore their local communities, learning about people, occupations, landmarks, and the role individuals play in society. These foundational lessons help build awareness and social understanding.

In Grade 2, students begin studying the world beyond their immediate surroundings. They learn about countries, continents, cultural traditions, and geographical features that make our planet unique.

Grade 3 introduces students to historical events, notable personalities, and the concept of time. They begin understanding how past events influence the present.

In Grades 4 and 5, learners examine ancient civilizations, world cultures, geographical regions, and significant historical developments while developing analytical and collaborative skills.

Students participate in field trips, museum visits, cultural celebrations, and community-based learning experiences that help them connect academic knowledge with real-world environments.

The Explorer’s Club organises engaging activities such as cultural showcases, geography competitions, community initiatives, and world knowledge challenges that encourage curiosity and exploration.

Students also participate in quizzes, exhibitions, and creative projects that build confidence while enhancing subject knowledge.

Maps, historical timelines, cultural exhibits, presentations, and research projects created by students are regularly displayed throughout the school community.

Through Social Studies, Lucknow Public School nurtures informed learners who appreciate cultural diversity, understand historical connections, and develop a strong sense of global citizenship.
