We ignite curiosity in Chemistry through experiments, innovation, and applied learning.

The Chemistry Department at Lucknow Public School is a centre for scientific discovery, where theory meets hands-on exploration. Our laboratories are fully equipped with modern apparatus—fume hoods, burettes, pipettes, digital pH meters, analytical balances, molecular models, and testing kits—ensuring students gain practical skills alongside conceptual understanding. Safety infrastructure including fire extinguishers, lab coats, and safety goggles is standard. We also provide access to chemistry-based journals, e-resources, and simulation tools for visualising molecular structures and reactions.

Our teaching is progressive and age-appropriate. In the Lower School, students are introduced to basic matter classification, states of matter, and safe lab behaviour through simple demonstrations. In Years 7 and 8, learning broadens to include acids and bases, salts, simple chemical reactions, and atomic structure. By Year 9 and above, students explore complex topics such as organic chemistry, chemical equilibrium, electrochemistry, thermodynamics, polymers, and industrial applications, supported by advanced experiments and analytical problem solving.

Connecting theory to reality is key. We conduct practical sessions for titration, qualitative analysis, chromatography, and synthesis. Students also work on environmental chemistry topics such as water testing, biodegradable materials, and clean energy solutions. Field visits to industrial plants and water treatment facilities give insights into chemistry in action.

Co-curricular activities include chemistry quizzes, inter-house science debates, and participation in national-level science Olympiads. The Chemistry Club runs “Green Chemistry” challenges, molecular model competitions, and hands-on workshops for younger students, fostering peer-to-peer learning.

Student work is showcased through corridor displays of reaction charts, molecular diagrams, research posters, and safety infographics. Annual Science Exhibitions feature innovative chemistry projects such as eco-friendly products, alternative fuels, and pollution control prototypes.

Through Chemistry, LPS develops analytical thinking, precision, and environmental responsibility. Students leave the department not only board-exam ready, but also curious, skilled problem-solvers capable of applying chemistry to real-world challenges—whether in higher studies, research, or sustainable industry.
