Understanding Power, Policy, and Public Leadership

At Lucknow Public School, Political Science encourages students to explore the systems, institutions, and ideas that shape societies and influence everyday life. Through research-based learning, critical discussions, and real-world applications, students gain a deeper understanding of governance, democracy, public policy, and international affairs. The subject equips learners with the power of knowledge and the confidence needed to engage thoughtfully with contemporary social and political issues.

Our department is supported by modern educational resources including interactive smart boards, political databases, current affairs archives, academic journals, case studies, and global news resources. These tools help students connect classroom learning with real-world developments while encouraging informed analysis and independent thought.

Students begin by exploring the basic concepts of citizenship, governance, constitutional values, and civic responsibilities. These lessons help them understand the role individuals play within democratic societies.

As students progress through the middle years, they study political institutions, democratic systems, human rights, global organizations, and comparative governance models. These topics broaden their understanding of how societies function and cooperate internationally.

Senior students engage in advanced studies of political ideologies, public administration, electoral systems, international diplomacy, and policy-making processes. Through analytical inquiry, they develop the ability to evaluate complex political issues from multiple perspectives.

Students participate in governance simulations, election campaigns, policy research projects, and current affairs discussions that encourage active engagement with contemporary political issues.

Visits to civic institutions, legislative bodies, and public administration offices provide valuable opportunities to observe governance structures and democratic processes firsthand.

The Political Scholars Club creates a platform for students to participate in debates, leadership programmes, governance workshops, and Model United Nations simulations that enhance communication and leadership skills.

Students also participate in political science Olympiads, public speaking competitions, essay contests, and inter-house debates that strengthen critical thinking and civic awareness.

Student-created policy proposals, political research papers, campaign strategies, presentations, and multimedia projects are showcased through exhibitions and academic events.

Through Political Science, Lucknow Public School develops socially aware, responsible, and informed individuals who are prepared to contribute positively to democratic societies and global communities.
