A Journey of Learning Across the Grades

At Lucknow Public School, Social Studies helps students understand how communities grow, how cultures develop, and how history and geography shape everyday life. Through engaging lessons, storytelling, projects, and exploration, learners begin a journey of discovery, uncovering the connections between people, places, and events while developing curiosity, empathy, and global awareness.

Our department provides a rich learning environment with maps, globes, cultural artefacts, multimedia resources, interactive activities, and age-appropriate books that make learning meaningful and enjoyable. Students are encouraged to ask questions, share ideas, and explore the diversity of the world around them.

In Grade 1, students begin by learning about their families, schools, neighbourhoods, and local communities. They discover the importance of cooperation, community helpers, and shared responsibilities.

Grade 2 students expand their understanding by exploring countries, continents, landforms, and cultural traditions from different parts of the world. These lessons help them appreciate diversity and develop geographic awareness.

By Grade 3, learners study important historical figures, significant events, and timelines that introduce the concept of change over time. In Grades 4 and 5, students investigate ancient civilizations, world geography, famous landmarks, and major historical developments while strengthening critical thinking and communication skills.

Educational visits to museums, heritage sites, local landmarks, and cultural festivals allow students to experience history and culture firsthand.

Classroom activities such as storytelling, role-plays, map-making projects, and collaborative research help students connect academic concepts with real-life experiences.

The Explorer’s Club organises world trivia, geography challenges, cultural exchange activities, and community service projects that encourage students to learn beyond the classroom.

Students also participate in quizzes, poster competitions, and exhibitions that build confidence and creativity.

Student-created maps, cultural displays, historical timelines, presentations, and project work are showcased through exhibitions and classroom displays that reflect their curiosity and growing understanding of the world.

Through Social Studies, Lucknow Public School inspires students to become thoughtful, informed, and compassionate global citizens.
